September 29 Faces Check-In

Standard

I am still working my way through Ayala Art’s 29 Faces challenge this month.

I had sort of an epiphany last night–I am ready to start adding color to these sketches.  Since these faces are being done in my Two-Minute Self-Portrait journal — I am going to stick with the format I have been playing with — soft pastels and random minimalism.

I have not yet started that yet…but after I catch up on a few things, hopefully today, if not, this week at some point…

I am not going to stop sketching because I am not adding color…because i have faces from before this challenge sitting in this journal waiting for color as well…

In case you are not following along with me on instagram (see the sidebar here)…here’s what I did this past week:

Now, if you do follow me on instagram, you will notice there are other, non-simply-sketched-with-charcoal-or-graphite, faces that I put up…and I tag them with #29faces because they are faces, but they do not appear here.  It’s because these faces I did not create specifically for this challenge…so I don’t feel it is fair to lump them into this post with the sketches I actually did for this challenge.

Not including the faces done for other reasons, just counting the sketches that I have done in my Two-Minute journal…I have fourteen of twenty-nine sketches done for this challenge.  So woo hoo–I am keeping up and I feel good about that.

Thank goodness for instagram so I can post every day as soon as I do the sketch.
