Already Looking Forward

So–I am always on the look out for a perfect for me daily planner…I need room, seven days a week, to write stuff down…this is where I track everything…this is how I show myself I am not just sitting on the couch–or in my case, in the rocking chair, doing nothing all day but losing brain cells to the idiot box…this is how I can show myself I am creating, I am doing, I am being useful, I am working…so on and so forth…whenever I get hit with the OMG, I never get anything done/accomplished around here…

Most planners I have encountered…the Saturday and Sunday slots are…mere pimples, in the grand scheme of things…who is the nut job who thought, hey, on the two most busy days of everyone’s week (or at least my life), when most people are off of work and running around with the kids, running errands, having fun, doing whatever, we will give them the smallest possible space to write anything in…WTF, people?

So–I have looked…and I have looked…and now that I found something I like, I have had two examples sent to me as hey, try this…but both are out of stock because, you know, it’s June, nearly July…and I am to keep my eyes open for next year’s version when it becomes available…ok…and I may actually buy the one too, because it has so many other things in it…other than just write your stuff in this space…but we’ll see.

I randomly roam…amazon.com…and recently, moleskine.com…and I saw…a planner…it was actually a weekly planner that caught my eye…but thankfully, I kept looking…and I found a daily planner…every single day, all seven of them per week, has its own page–a full page all of its own…

Oh, happy day…

So…I began to stalk this planner…and I found an excellent deal, shipped from “the UK” — I will explain the quotes in a moment…

Since it shipped from “the UK”, I read the shipping reviews…and nearly all of them actually complained about how long it took for their item to come in.  I read and re-read the listing, pondering, pondering…and then I figured, ok, this is $5 less than anywhere else–and it is June–if it takes a whole month for this thing to get here, so what?  I still have five months, give or take, to hold on to this thing before the new year actually starts…what do I have to lose?

I ordered my moleskine daily planner…from “the UK”…and sat back to wait…two to three weeks.

Well–let me say 1 I order stuff, books, paper, actual canvases, from the UK…and it all has gotten here within a week.  Ordering things from China–that can take month or two or longer, depending…but UK, never had an issue…not from Britain, not from Ireland and not from Wales…just to be more specific than ‘the UK’…and 2 my moleskine did arrive, just over two weeks after I ordered it…HOWEVER, the return address label gave me an address from NJ–as did the postmark–which is not in the UK–it’s in the US…and why something not labelled as media mail, but as first class took so long to arrive is a question no one can answer in a way that feels satisfactory…

But please, pray, do tell me how actual shipping from NJ can be confused with shipping from the UK…and I did check the listing…there was no shipping from multiple locations or anything…just ‘ships from the UK in 10-14 business days’…

So, I am baffled…NJ versus UK…but — really–who cares…my moleskine daily planner arrived in perfect condition…brand new, wrapped in plastic…and oh my, so nice…

And there is so much other information in this thing…and the pocket in the back, which I will probably never use, but that’s me…you never know though…because when I chose this planner, I wanted to make sure that I bought something small enough to fit in my bag, with my art journal, so it could go anywhere with me…and I am hoping to begin offering in-person workshops next year (not in MO, but in NC) so maybe my overworked brain was thinking….carry everything in one bag…which can really work if I manage things properly.

But–my planner…a whole page, for every single day…and the one thing I drive myself crazy with every year…the Moon cycles…are already in the book for me…woo hoo…how good is that?  Now, other than holidays and birthdays…this book is pretty much ready for me to crack open January 1, 2016 and get busy…

I’m excited…not only because I have this cool planner sitting on my desk, waiting while I find a safe spot to put it for the next five plus months, where it can quickly and easily be found in plenty of time before January 1, 2016…but because…I already have things planned, lined up and ready to go come 2016…and even into 2017…so that makes me feel good…I wasn’t always sure I was going to make it there…and now, I know I am…

Can’t wait to see what the rest of 2015 brings…and how that translates into 2016…

Yippee…
