VEDIF Conclusion

So, Vlog Every Day In February…I did my best there.

When I felt good, and when I had things to say, I made videos.  When I didn’t feel well, when I didn’t have much to say, I didn’t bother making a video.

Towards the end of the month, fewer and fewer videos were made…and I think in the last week I don’t think I made any videos.  It didn’t have anything to do with my birthday.  The end of February hit me hard, as if all of the issues with February crashed down on me, but it wasn’t anything to do with my birthday.

For some reason, some people seem to have this idea in their heads that aging is bad and if someone doesn’t do something close to their birthday (like make videos), they must be having issues.  I like getting older.  I enjoy the different vibe of this age.  I have no issues living with the face I created for myself over the years.  My body and I are still having issues, due to chronic health issues and other things that crop up, but that doesn’t ring in my brain as, man, this means I’m old.  I don’t think “old” or “older” are dirty words or things to fear or despise or ridicule.  Not to mention, I love being me.  So, not a birthday issue–just a regular ol’ poor health issue.  I apologize if this disappoints anyone.

I did learn something with this whole experience this month/year–I do not intend to repeat the experience next year.  I am thinking that this year is the last year that I do VEDIF.  I don’t have issues with the videos themselves; it does come down to the fact that I have too many other things going on.  If it is important enough, I will put it in the weekly check-in videos.  Or in a blog post.

So, good experience overall.  It did help me re-establish boundaries and did help me put some thought into what I want in my life.  I can’t think of anything better than that.
